    RSSI and RTWP

    What is difference between RSSI and Received Total Wideband Power (RTWP) measured at UTRAN NodeB?
    Thanks!

    Re: RSSI and RTWP

    RTWP:The RTWP reflects the total noise level within the UMTS frequency band of one single cell.

    Know more What is RTWP?

    RSSI:Received Signal Strength Indicator indicates the strength of the incoming (received) signal in a receiver.

    Re: RSSI and RTWP

    If we have measurements for RTWP and Ec/No at UTRAN NodeB then could we use these to calculate RSCP ?

    RSCP = RTWP + EC/No
    ?

    Re: RSSI and RTWP

    RTWP HAS A GREAT SIGNIFICANT ON DATA THROUGHPUT (HSDPA).THE HIGHER THE VALUE,THE HIGHER THE UPLINK INTERFERENCE AND THE LOWER THE DATA THROUGHPUT....SOMEBODY CAN EDIT.

    RSSI Vs RTWP

    There is no difference b/wRTWP & RSSI both are the names for same thing,
    RSSI is also total recived power before descrambling,

    RSCP=RSSI (RTWP) + Ec/No
    (in dB)

    Plz correct me if i am wrong.

    RSSI: - It is the combination of all signals received (RSCP & EcNo) on the downlink frequency, also refered to as the total noise on the "downlink".
    RSSI [dBm] = RSCP [dBm] - Ec/I0 [dB]
    RTWP: - Its Received Total Wideband Power. the total level of noise within the UMTS frequency band
    of any cell on the "Uplink". RTWP is related to "uplink" interference

    RTWP stands for Received Total Wideband Power and its a measurement in the cell radio unit. RTWP is the signal strenght received in the 5MHz uplink frequency. This measurement is the total addition of the equipment thermal noise level(-105 dBm +/-0.5 dB sometimes more) plus signal of users connected to the cell plus signal of users connected to other cells and other type of radio signals(GSM,CDMA,MW,TV) in that range of frequencies that the cell measure(5MHz).RSSI stands for Received Signal Strenght Indicator and its a general term for RF signals,its used in downlink and uplink in different mobile technologies. In WCDMA (uplink) issaid to be equivalent to RTWP because is the signal strength in UL this means the sum of all signals that the cell measure.
